High Holy Day Services 5785

These High Holy Days promise to be truly exceptional, especially in the realm of music. We are privileged to welcome our new and internationally acclaimed Chazzan Danny Maseng, who will lead his first Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services with us. If you’ve had the pleasure of attending a Shabbat service with him, you know the profound impact of his music.

Sarah Lonsert, his Cantorial Assistant, the singer with an angelic voice, will join him. Sarah was cast as one of the leading characters in Danny Maseng’s musical “Let There Be Light” at Temple Israel of Hollywood. She has sung with Chazzan Maseng since then, and their harmony is a joy to experience.

Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur Evening, Kol Nidre

Friday, October 11th, 7:00 PM

Five distinct prayer services occur on Yom Kippur, the first Kol Nidre, on the holiday’s eve, and the last before sunset on the following day. One of the most important prayers specific to Yom Kippur describes the atonement ritual performed by high priests during ancient times.
